Mingachevir

Mingachevir, also known as Mingechaur, is a significant historical and cultural hub in Azerbaijan, renowned for its rich archaeological heritage dating back 5,000 years. Archaeological excavations have revealed ancient burials containing a wide array of artifacts showcased in the city's museums and historic sites. The city was built after World War II with the help of German prisoners of war. The Mingachevir hydroelectric power station, constructed with the assistance of these prisoners, remains a prominent feature of the city's landscape.
