Solis Theatre, Montevideo Overview
The oldest theatre in Uruguay, Solis Theatre, was constructed in 1856 and is located in the Plaza Independencia. The theatre was rebuilt in 1998 by Philippe Starck, and was completed in 2004.
The architecture of the faade and the interior of the theatre has been restored to its original style which will leave you in old world splendor and elegance. For foreigners, there are English speaking guides that will help you in taking the tour of the theatre and understand the performances.
