Muang Ngoi Neua

1. Tham Kang cave and Tham Pha Kaew cave - Two famous caves located close to the village of Muang Ngoi Neua, which can be visited without a guide. The best way to get there is by renting a motorbike for about 8 USD per day. You can also get on foot within 40 minutes. The entry fee is 10000 LAK. Get a headlamp to navigate your way in the caves.

2. Visit Ban Sopjam - Ban Sopjam is a weaving village located on the banks of the river close to Muang Ngoi Neua. You can take a Kayaking tour to this village to see how weaving is done. These tours can be booked through your guesthouse or hotel and cost about 10 to 15 USD per person.

3. Explore the villages - Bana, Huay Bo, and Huay Sen are the neighbouring villages of Muang Ngoi Neua known for the green fields and country life of Laos. You can reach there by renting a motorbike or a bicycle. You can also hike to these villages starting from Bana, which is located near Tham Kang Cave. If you want, you can also stay overnight in local homestays in these villages which cost around 10 to 15 USD. It is not required to book any tours, and you can visit at your pace through bikes or hike.

4. Hike to the viewpoints - Muang Ngoi Neua has three viewpoints, which can be hiked for witnessing some magnificent sunsets. Carry a headlamp and wear good hiking shoes as the paths are steep and slippery.
