Muang Ngoi Neua is a small village located on the Nam Ou River in Luang Prabang province in Northern Laos. With a population of just over 1000 and the town getting electricity only in 2013, it is one of the most secluded villages in a beautiful location, which has recently become popular among tourists visiting the country for its natural beauty, caves and hiking opportunities.
There are no ATM or currency exchange centres in Muang Ngoi Neua. Carry sufficient cash for all transactions before arriving.
Accommodation options are limited in the town and can get booked during the hiking season. It is recommended to book hotels and guesthouses in advance.
There is also no WiFi in most places.
