Mahipatagad is a hill fort in the state of Maharashtra. Mahipatagad is a twin fort of Rasalgad, located in the Ratnagiri district.
The fort is famous for its six entrance door or 'Darwazas' but most of them have crumbled down. There is Shiva temple at the top by the name of Mayureshwar Mahadev, and two small ponds facing the temple. Huge heaps of lime and mortar are found at some places atop the fort. The top of the fort is occupied by dense forests for most of the part. There are tanks of water at the top as well. One can easily see the forts of Makarandgad and Pratapgad to the East and Rajgad to the West, from atop the citadel.
Rail: Local trainsa re available from Mumbai and Kalyan to Khed. The frequency is very less though. One might as well get down at Mumbai and get down at khed.
Road: The village of Dahivali is easily accessible through state tranport buses from Khed bus terminal Frequent buses are available from Mumbai to Khed.
