The Old port of Mykonos is located in the centre of the town within walking distance of the famous Little Venice. The port is filled with sea-facing bars and restaurants, while the nearby alleys have boutiques, jewellery stores and galleries. It offers magnificent views of the Cycladic sunsets and is the perfect location to watch the town transform into a nightlife centre after the sunset.
The Old port offers a small sandy beach which is an excellent spot for swimming. It can be discovered while taking a stroll through the picturesque streets of Chora. 15 years ago, it operated as the main port for ferries but has been recently used mainly by yachts and cruises for organized sailing trips and some fishermen. The ferries to the new port leave from the old port and are also used for boats visiting the famous archaeological sanctuary on Delos island.
