The Tourliani Monastery is a 16th-century monastery in Mykonos famous for its impressive Cycladic architecture. Located in Ano Mera, it is 8 Km from Chora. People visit the monastery for the beautiful views of the surrounding. The church's interiors are breathtaking, with a view of the altar screen, also known as iconostasis, made by Florentine artists in 1775.
An imposing wall surrounds the exterior of the the Tourliani Monastery and, in the middle is a spectacular view of the white-washed walls of the church contrasted with a red dome. The marble floors of the monastery go back to the 1600s, with an ornate marble foundation in the yard outside the church. The wood-carved screen depicts scenes from the New Testament, icons of saints, apostles, Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary. Byzantine frescoes, crystal chandeliers, a gilded pulpit, and carved marble and wood are also fascinating interiors in the church.
