Mysore Palace - the pride of Mysore. The enticing architecture is indeed a visual treat. The majestic grandeur of Mysore Palace is like nothing else.Best time to visit Mysore Palace is during Dasara (Read More)festival. Surely a must visit place in a lifetime not only for its beauty but also for the royalty and customs. Not to forget, Jamboo Savaari is one of the major attraction during this time.

The city is often rightly considered as Karnataka's 'cultural capital' and is known for its rich heritage. It is home to architectural wonders like the Mysore Palace, Somnathpur Temple, Sri Chamundes (Read More)wari Temple, which left us amazed. The Brindavan Garden was another fun evening, with its fountain shows, beautiful flora, and even a boat-ride nearby! The St. Philomena?s Cathedral, one of the oldest churches in India, was a wonderful spiritual experience. The boat ride in Karanji Lake was simply breathtaking. A tip for tourists who go here is to dress weather-friendly, as summers can get hot and humid here.

It's no more 15rs, they charge 20rs per head for adults. Apart from it, camera charge is rs 50. Also, I visited the place yesterday at 7pm. For one hour, there was no light. We were sitting in dark.

The Mysore Palace is the major attraction of Mysore which is also known as City of Palaces. The Mysore Palace is a beautiful delight to sore eyes as the detailed carving and hand sculpting that has g (Read More)one into its creation. The Palace is colourful and highly maintained such that it serves a very photographic location. One cannot use dedicated cameras such as DSLRs or even Polaroid Cameras inside the Palace, but mobile photography is permitted and not penalized. It is also a place that is historically significant. Its history can be read on the internet before visiting the palace, if you are not willing to pay for a guide because that?s what my friends and I did. If one means to visit other places arounf the Mysore Palace in Mysore do check if the city is open during that day because we went on a Tuesday and all the shops and places in the city were shut.

Today, the Mysore Palace is the greatest reminder of the legacy of the Wadiyar dynasty in Karnataka. It is a must-visit location of site-seeing for its marvellous architecture and grandeur. Although (Read More)there are a number of larger, more popular temples such as Somnathpur Temple in Mysore, I find the Chamundeshwari Temple to be far more fascinating. It is located on the Chamundi hills and can be reached either by foot (which is a fair walk) or by car. It has gorgeous architecture and a lovely view of the city. To those travelling with children, Mysore Zoo could offer some source of entertainment for its many animals and related exhibitions. I find that knowing Kannada comes in handy in this city.
