Situated amidst the Shivalik Hills, the Simbalbara National Park is in the Paonta Valley in the Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh. Built in 1958 and re-established as a wildlife sanctuary in 1974, this park covers a total area of 27.88 square kilometers. This beautiful park is covered with sal trees and lush green pastures of grass.
Famous for its diverse wildlife and unique bird species, this park houses a variety of rare animals such as Sambhar, Goral, Spotted Deer, Himalayan Black Bear, Chittal, Indian Muntjacs, Red Jungle Fowls, wild boar, and Hanuman langurs among various other species. Along with this, the Simbalbara National Park is also home to more than 200 varieties of birds and some rare migratory birds and is, therefore, a haven for birdwatchers.
Note : There are no eateries or shops around this forest so you must carry water and food as per your requirement.
Remember to wear hiking shoes as there are several walking trails within the forest.
