The Bawkhaleshwar Temple was most well known for its majestic marble architecture, and the weekly aarti held for Lord Ganesha every Tuesday. The high court of Maharashtra and later the Supreme Court had deemed this establishment illegal after a long legal battle spanning almost eight years, following which the temple was demolished in 2018 by the MIDC (Maharashtra Industrial Development Cooperation).
