One of the most popular scuba diving locations in Greece, Naxos is surrounded by shipwrecks, reefs, islets and lush greenery. The rocky formations and underwater caves around the shoreline make the ideal conditions. The main diving center is the wreck of the cargo ship Marianna. Other diving sites include the Skouli wreck and Chora Chorio wreck, the wreck of Arado Seaplane in Iraklia island and the Calypso and Graviera Reefs.
On the western beaches of the island, including Agios Prokopios, Agios Georgios, Plaka, and Marangas, are where you'll find the majority of Naxos diving institutions. They provide diving lessons for divers of all levels, rent out equipment for solo dives, and plan boat excursions.
