Van Long Wetland Nature Reserve

Van Long Wetland Nature Reserve is the largest wetland nature reserve in the northern part of Vietnam and is popular for hiking and birdwatching. It is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, including several endangered species like the Delacour's langur. The best way to experience the reserve is by taking a traditional sampan boat tour. You can reach here by car, motorbike or bicycle. Guided tours are also available.

Van Long Nature Reserve covers an area of approximately 3,000 hectares, encompassing a diverse landscape of wetlands, limestone mountains, and verdant forests. It is often referred to as “the bay without waves” because of its calm, mirror-like surface, which perfectly reflects the surrounding limestone karsts and lush vegetation. With its dramatic landscapes and reflective waters, Van Long is a paradise for photographers. Early morning and late afternoon are the best times for capturing the reserve’s beauty. It is less crowded than other attractions in Ninh Binh, such as Tam Coc or Trang An, making it an ideal spot for those seeking a more tranquil and unspoiled environment.
