Phadeng is a limestone mountain located close to the city of Nong Khiaw in northern Laos. Its peak has several viewpoints, which offer excellent panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, the rice fields and Laotian countryside along the Nam Ou river. Phadeng Peak is one of the top attractions for tourists visiting Nong Khiaw.
It is best visited during the sunrise or sunset for spectacular views. It takes about 1 to 1.5 hours to reach the top. If you are climbing during the evening, bring a torch light as the way down is difficult to descend in the dark.
