Santichon Village, officially known as the Chinese Yunnan Cultural Center is a cultural village. Visitors can experience authentic Yunnanese culture by exploring the traditional Chinese clay houses, partaking in tea-tasting sessions, riding a Feng-Shui swing, visiting the demonstration of chakra healing, and tasting the eclectic cuisine served at the eateries.
Santichon Village was once a settlement of Chinese refugees who fled the revolution of Mao Tse Tung. The culture and customs passed down through the generations are still upheld in the village. Many small shops sell tea leaves, herbs, medicine, handicraft items, and delicious food items. Make sure to try out the delicious Yunnanese cuisine comprising signature Moo Pang Pee, pork hocks with buns, shitake mushrooms, and black chicken with Chinese herbs. You may also sign up for horse or donkey rides, participate in shooting games, or ride the wooden Ferris Wheel for THB 20 per person. There are shacks where you can rent traditional Yunnan dresses for THB 100 and take pictures wearing them. A steep and bumpy offroad from the village will take you to the Yun Lai Viewpoint, where you can catch a great view of Pai.
