The best time to visit Paris is from April to October, when the city enjoys its most pleasant weather and lively cultural calendar. Spring and early autumn—specifically April to May and September to early October—offer mild temperatures ranging between 12°C and 22°C, along with fewer crowds, making them the ideal months for sightseeing and soaking up the Parisian charm. June to August is the peak tourist season, marked by warm weather (averaging 23°C to 30°C), buzzing parks, and riverside gatherings. Winter from November to March brings chilly temperatures between 3°C and 10°C and quieter streets, but also festive lights, winter sales, and budget-friendly travel deals.
June to August (Peak Season - Summer): Paris is at its liveliest during summer, with average temperatures ranging from 18°C to 25°C. These months offer long daylight hours and a festive atmosphere. Several festivals like Paris Jazz Festival attract crowds from around the world. However, this is also when Paris sees its largest influx of tourists, so expect high hotel rates and long queues at landmarks. Also, many Parisians leave the city for holidays, causing smaller boutiques and bistros to temporarily close.
April to May and September to October (Shoulder Season - Spring.Autumn): Spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October) are arguably the best months to visit Paris. Temperatures range between 11°C to 20°C, with blooming cherry blossoms in April and golden autumn leaves by October. From September to November, Paris sees moderate rainfall, usually spread across several day. The showers are typically light and intermittent.
November to March (Off-Season - Winter): Paris in winter is quieter and more budget-friendly, with temperatures typically ranging from 3°C to 8°C. While snow is rare, misty mornings and twinkling lights give the city a romantic, melancholic vibe. December is especially magical with Christmas markets. January and February are the coldest months, but offer the best deals on flights and accommodations. January sales(soldes) are the major draw for tourists. From December to February, Paris sees an average of 12 to 15 rainy days per month, but the rainfall is generally modest — around 40 to 50 mm per month, not enough to ruin your sightseeing plans.
