Koh Khai is a group of three islands just 15 minutes speedboat ride from Phuket’s east coast. The islands are popular for their warm sand beaches, clear blue waters, and schools of fish close to the shore that you can spot underwater while snorkeling. Koh Khai Nai is the largest and has the most extensive swimming and snorkeling opportunities. Khai Nok has better facilities.
The beach is lined with umbrellas and sunbeds that you can rent per hour or per day for a relaxing time. There are also small shack bars, such as Reggae Bar or Ratree Bar, which serve soft drinks, beer, cocktails, and coconuts. There are also several restaurants and souvenir shops. Koh Khai Nui, the third island, is smaller but equally beautiful. It has no beach but is ideal for snorkeling from a boat because of mesmerizing coral reefs.
However, all islands are small enough for you to explore their entire surface area in less than 30 minutes each. The island has no resort or hotel, so an overnight stay is not an option. Remember that feeding bread or anything else to the fish is strictly prohibited and you could be arrested and fined for it.
