The Petrin Tower is an iconic steel observation tower located on Petrin Hill, in Prague's Lesser Town, west of the Vltava River. Built in 1891 for the Jubilee Exhibition, the tower was inspired by the Eiffel Tower, standing at a scaled-down height of 58.7 meters. It offers panoramic views of Prague, including the Vltava River, Prague Castle, and the city's iconic red roofs. A small café and gift shop are located on the main level of the tower. The area also features refreshment stands and restaurants on the hill.
Almost one-fifth the size of Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Petrin Lookout Tower is a 63-meter high miniature replica of its French counterpart. Perched on the top of Petrin Hills, the tower is known for offering a picture perfect view of the city of Prague. Originally created by using the used railway tracks in 1891 for a major exhibition, this brilliant piece of art was later on shifted to the PetrÕn Hill during 1930s. Since then it has been one of the major attractions of Prague receiving tourists in large number. There are two ways to reach the base of the tower, either by a 30-minute climb uphill or by taking a fun trip on cable railway and then taking on a flight of 299 steps. There is also an elevator and a cafe uphill.æ
