Ganga Sagar is a wonderful island situated just off the Bengal coast and on the point where River Ganga meets the Bay of Bengal. Every year in the month of January the island sees a huge gathering of devotees from all parts of the country, who come to take a dip in the holy waters.
Air: The nearest airport is at Kolkata which 135 km away from Ganga Sagar. One can easily get a cab or a bus for Darwood point from the airport. From Darwood point one needs to take a boat till kuchuberia and take a connecting bus to Ganga Sagar.
Rail: The nearest rail head is Kakdweep railway station which can be reached from Sealdah station on the mainland. From Kakdwip you can easily get a cab or bus fro Harwood point. From harwood point you can take a ferry to Ganga Sagar.
Road: Ganga Sagar island is connected by motorable roads till Harwood Point. From Harwood point you need to take a ferry till Kucheberia and take a connecting bus to Ganga Sagar.
