Tucked away south of La Jolla, San Diego is one of those hidden beaches located on the western side of Ellen Browning Scripps park - Boomer beach. Located next to the more popular and bustling La Jolla Cove beach, Boomer beach has been a more remote beach due to its secluded nature. There are no stairs here and one would have to climb down the sandstone bluff from the Ellen Browning Scripps Park to gain access.

Popular among body surfers thanks to the excellent waves, you may find many of them in the waters any day of the week. However, surfing, boogie boarding, and swimming is a big no cause of the way the waves break. Restrooms and showers are also available.
The park is an excellent spot for wave watching which is a favorite among the crowd due to the large waves crashing into the shores. With the seclusion from the other areas around, parking could prove to be a hassle. It’s recommended to drive around on the coast boulevard to find a good parking spot.
