The beach has always catered to people from various walks of life looking to spend their time here. Although it doesn’t offer the same longboard wave for surfers that it once used to back in the days, it still does provide good shortboard waves for surfers and you’ll find tons of surfers frequently visiting here.
The other activities popular at Moonlight beach include swimming, surf fishing, beach volleyball, and bonfires. In fact, the three volleyball courts at the north end of the beach are consistently filled throughout the week. A mixed doubles volleyball tournament has brought in some of the world’s best players and huge crowds every year since 1964 in the month of October. Walkathons & surf camps are a constant feature of Moonlight Beach conducted every year during fall that pulls in crowds of over 8000.
