The Bhimeshwara Temple is a historic Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Situated near the Tunga river, the temple holds immense spiritual significance. Built in the Dravidian architectural style, it features intricately carved pillars, sculptures, and a sanctum housing a Shiva Linga. As per mythology, the Shiva Linga was installed by Bheema, one of the Pandavas, during their Ajnyaatavasa (period of living in hiding).
Adjacent to the temple lies the Bheemeshwara Falls, a picturesque waterfall with mythological roots. It is believed that the waterfall was created when Arjuna used his arrow to extract water from the rocks. The falls cascade from a height of around 50 feet, adding to the serene and enchanting atmosphere of the temple surroundings.
