Don Som, Si Phan Don Overview
Don Som is one of the islands of the 4000 Islands or Si Phan Don in Champasak province in southern Laos. Unlike the other neighbouring islands, it is not popular among the tourists. The island has no roads, and its secluded location makes it worth visiting. About 11 villages consisting of over 7,000 people live here. It is one of the islands to cycle, relax and enjoy the white-sand beaches. You can also rent a Kayak or swim.

Best time to visit
The best time to visit Don Som is from October to March. The weather is excellent, the water levels in the Mekong subside after the heavy monsoon, and it is a great time for swimming, spotting dolphins and Kayaking.
