What is Affordable Art Fair (AAF)?    

Affordable Art Fair was founded by Will Ramsay in 1999 in London, England at Battersea Park. AAF has become an international event which is organised at several locations in different cities of the world annually, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Hamburg, Stockholm, Milan, Amsterdam, Brussels, London, and Bristol. In New York, Singapore and Battersea, this event is organised as autumn and spring editions and lasts for four days. The art fair is started with the objective of making art accessible and affordable to everyone. AAF has its offices in all the cities where the festival is organised.

This year's Affordable Art Festival to be celebrated in Singapore is a four-day event. The event will start on 15th November and will be over on 18th November 2018. The location is F1 Pit Building Singapore.

Highlights of Affordable Art Festival

The main idea behind this festival is to make people fall in love with the art and also to make art affordable and accessible to everyone. More than 2.3 million visitors have been welcomed by the art fair ever since its inception. Till now, the art fair has been able to sell artwork of around $425 million. Every year, there are 13 fairs organised in 10 different cities of the world. No doubt it is the most successful art festival to be hosted in Singapore. The festival attracts more than 60 galleries from all across the globe, and several thousands of visitors come here to see artworks which range from SGD 100 to SGD 15,000. The art fair not only limits its activities to just hosting the artists but it also does great charity.

You will get to see affordable, original and contemporary art from galleries and dealers from all cross. The event will include painting, antiques and a wide range of photography.  More than 75 exhibitors will present affordable, original and fresh artwork. The price will range from $100 to $15000. You will be offered on-site wrapping service for all the artwork you purchase. The visitors will include artists, art lovers, key decision makers, distributors, retailers, art collectors and many more.

Some of the major art galleries to visit the art fair are You Hong Gallery, Astrid Dahl Studio Gallery, Art and Printmaking Studio, Art Xchange Gallery, Calcutta Arts Club, Galeri Apik, Himalaya Arts, Tay Gallery, Urban Uprising, Galerie Envie D’Art, The Cat Street Gallery, Artist Collective India, Lakeer, Cascade Art Space, Yinogo Contemporary Art, etc.

This time, new media works will be given particular attention, such as video and digital installations. For the artists who are putting their artwork for the first time, there will be a #Spotlight showcase. At the fair, there will be lectures, advice and tips for showing.

Affordable Art Fair Entry Ticket

There is free entry for the children below 16 years. You can buy an advance ticket that will cost you $15. If you want to buy at the door, the ticket will cost you $18. You better check the official website for more information on ticket sale.

The autumn edition of the Affordable Art Festival Singapore will witness over 500 artists from Singapore and around 75 international art galleries.
