South Sentinel Island is located in the Bay of Bengal and is one of the Andaman Islands. It is a very small island no bigger than 1.6sq.km. It is considered a far-more quiet and novel getaway when in the Andamans.
The island is a boat ride away from the Little Andaman Island, at a distance of about 27km. The island is uninhabited. Divers and expedition enthusiasts can explore clear waters and special corals on this isle. In 1977, the South Sentinel Island Sanctuary was established on this island, home to indigenous Coconut Crabs.
