Russian Ethnographic Museum, St. Petersburg Overview

The Russian Museum of Ethnography is one of the world's largest ethnographic museums, housing approximately 500,000 artifacts that showcase the diverse cultures and traditions of the peoples of Russia and neighboring countries. Its vast collection includes traditional clothing, tools, religious artifacts, and artworks representing over 150 ethnic groups. Established in 1902 as a branch of the Russian Museum, the Ethnography Museum was created to preserve and study the cultural heritage of the various ethnic groups within the Russian Empire.
