The Sukhothai Historical Park is divided into sections that contain around 190 ancient ruins and temples and forms the most important attraction of Sukhothai. Practically being the entire old Sukhothai, the historical park is home to temples, parks, the royal palace and Buddha figures that have over the years built the historical value of Sukhothai. Travellers usually cycle their way around the park or sometimes walk.
The main and must visit sights inside the park are the Wat Mahathat, the most important and magnificent temple in Sukhothai; Wat Sa Si, which has a very beautiful aura to it due to the location; Ramkhamhaeng National Museum; and Wat Si Sawai, which is one of the oldest temples of Sukhothai. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sukhothai Historical Park is a marvel for all the history lovers.
