Gopi Talav, Surat Overview
Located in the Gopipura area of Surat in Gujarat, Gopi Talav is an ancient artificial lake that has lately become one of the most popular recreational spots in town. Built in circa 1510 CE by Malik Gopi- the then Governor and affluent merchant, the lake now is being managed by Surat Municipal Corporation. Boasting of lush green surroundings, the urban lake has a gorgeous fountain in the centre. Aside from the aesthetic beauty, there are a number of games and activities available at the spot.
The area surrounding the stunning lake has been converted into a recreation cum entertainment zone. Boat Rides are the highlight of the lake. Whereas you can also try your hand at paintball or enjoy a bumpy and thrilling bull ride. In addition to that, there are Bumper Car, Mini Train for Kids, Wall Climbing, Water Tricycle, Bumper Boats, and Zip Line etc.

Zones in Gopi Talav
- History Zone- This is the section which has the amphitheatre, history platforms, adorning motifs, an administration building and a vav.
- Food Zone- Known as ‘Surat Nu Jamun’, the food zone serves authentic and delicious Gujarati cuisine food. Light on the pocket, the area has a seating places with concrete benches.
- Communal Harmony Zone- As the name suggests, Communal Harmony Zone is meant mostly for yoga, meditation, and to rejuvenate. It has gazebos and laughing clubs.
- Diamond Zone- This is the most picturesque zone in the Gopi Talav as it houses the “Kohinoor Fountain”. Tourists mostly visit this place for sightseeing. The place offers immense peace and calm and is a perfect place to unwind and rejuvenate.
- Textile Zone- This zone is basically meant for the kids. It has got recreational activities and interesting games especially designed for the kids.
- Environment Awareness Zone- Environment Awareness Zone comprises of a massive green park and an amphitheatre that can accommodate upto 400 people. Several cultural events and activities are organized in this section.
