One of the oldest museums in Syros, the Archaeological is a must-visit site if you like learning about the history of Greece. It displays exhibitions ranging from the Amfikypellon, a cup from the third millennium, a marble statue from 730 BC, an ancient compass, a vase from the latter half of the third millennium, and a range of sculptures, artworks, and inscriptions from the Byzantine and Cycladic periods.
One of the museum's most interesting exhibits is the works of the archaeologist Christos Tsountas. This archaeological was founded in 1834 and shifted to the city hall in 1899. It has been created in four City Hall rooms and has a separate entrance from the historic square.
