Situated 19 kms north of the city of Agadir, Taghazout is a small fishing village on the Atlantic coast of Morocco. This well-known surfing site is famous for its hipster vibe, serene sea views, and a stunning coastline studded with blue and white houses.

  • The town is compact enough to be covered on foot.
  • Taghazout is a popular WFH destination. There is not much to do here apart from visiting its beaches.
  • Alcohol is unavailable in most parts of the city, and tourists can get it from Agadir. Some hotels offer this service for you.
  • Luxury hotels can be found around Rue Iwlit.
  • Most budget stays and hostels are situated around Panorama Street.
  • Experienced surfers can try a hand at challenging right-handers like Boilers, Killer Point, and Anchor Point. The most popular being Anchor Point, which can reach 500 meters on a significant northwest swell. Locations like Devil's Rock and Banana Point are good places for beginners to hone their skills.
  • Buses to Marrakech, Agadir and Essaouira are easily available. Buses from Taghazout to Essaouira will not take more than 2.5 hours for 500 TRY. Taghazout to Marrakech is a 4 hour journey starting from 550 TRY.
  • Other modes of transport towards Agadir, Marrakech, and Casablanca include local shuttles and taxis. Public taxis are available for carpools.
  • Many little shops stocked with genuine Moroccan goods are spread throughout Taghazout's winding lanes. These shops sell several products, including rugs, bags, clothing, jewellery, and many surf-related items. For an authentic Moroccan shopping experience, travel downtown towards Medina.
