Dezerter Bazaar

The Dezerter Bazaar is a vibrant and historically rich market that offers an authentic Georgian experience. The bazaar is renowned for its extensive selection of fresh produce, including seasonal fruits and vegetables, as well as a variety of spices, pickles, dairy products, and meats. It also features handcrafted souvenirs, traditional Georgian clothing, and artisanal crafts, making it an ideal destination for unique mementos.

Here you can explore a range of local delicacies, from traditional khachapuri to churchkhela. The bazaar is situated north of Old Tbilisi on the eastern side of the river, near Tbilisi Central Railway Station and Dinamo Arena. The main entrance is on Tsinamdzgvrishvili Street. You can reach the bazaar by taking the metro to Station Square and walking one block west. Buses 308 and 306 from Freedom Square also stop right outside the market. Established in the 19th century as a trading hub for deserters from military service, this market has evolved into a bustling center of commerce.
