Lod, Tel Aviv Overview
Lod, also known as Lydda, is a city in the Central District of Israel. There are several attractions worth checking out at Lod. Church of Saint George, a 19th-century Christian Greek Orthodox Church, and Lod Mosaic, a large mosaic floor dating back to ca.300 CE, are two of the most frequently visited attractions.
It is relatively easy to reach as the international Ben Gurion Airport, formerly known as the Lod Airport, is situated on the outskirts. The Museum of Jewish Heritage is a great place to get acquainted with the culture and heritage of Jews while enjoying the stunning Mediterranean gardens blooming with olive and fig trees. The city is a central Israeli transportation hub with 10 local bus lines and is the site of some of the largest Israeli industries.
