The Kuteti Devi Temple, regarded highly by the people of Uttarkashi, and the guardian deity of some major clans here, is situated close to the Vishwanath Temple, and is known to have been established by the son in law and daughter of King Kota, who discovered the Goddess's material reincarnation in the form of three stones.
Upon the wish of the holy goddess, a shrine was built in her reverence, and to this date, is frequented by pilgrims from all around the country. Apart from being a widely worshipped shrine, the temple is surrounded by plenty of activities and trekking opportunities, or just for taking in the relaxing view of the waterfalls and the lush green cover around it.
