Built on Hon Ba Island, Hon Ba Temple is accessible by boat or foot, depending on the tide. Unfortunately, the walking path is only available a few times a month and leads over rough ground full of jagged shells and oysters. Locally known as the Mieu Ba, this temple was built in 1881 and served as a secret meeting place for communists during wars. The temple has four worship periods each year, typically in January, April, July and October, depending on tides.
