Popular activities include sailing, kayaking, and exploring Kornati National Park, a protected area renowned for its rugged landscapes and marine biodiversity. It is easily accessible by boat from Zadar.
It houses almost 300 islands, out of which 89 are inhabited. It also houses reefs, islets, one nature park, and one national park contributing to its unparalleled Beauty. It is one of the best places for sailing and cruising, and it's famous for other outdoor activities, including swimming, snorkeling, diving, boating, and hiking.
The largest island of the archipelago is Dugi Otok Ugljan, the closest island to Zadar, and a narrow channel and a short ferry ride separate it. Moving to Kornati Island, it's a part of 140 islands; it houses the national park and rare wildlife and is mainly scrub-covered and rocky.
