Argassi Bridge

Argassi Bridge, Zakynthos Overview

The Argassi Bridge is a 19th-century Venetian Bridge located on the Argassi beach, 350 m from Argassi city centre, on Zakynthos Island. The bridge is a major landmark of the village and was constructed using the local Tufa limestone. All that remains is one-half of the bridge with three 13m long arches located at a 10 m distance from the shoreline. The second half of the sea is submerged underwater. The bridge is a picturesque photography spot, especially for wedding photoshoots due to its scenic sunset view.

Visitors can also enjoy swimming and snorkelling on the picturesque Argassi beach. It also offers various watersports, such as paragliding, sea-skiing, jet-skiing, paddle boating, and more. Argassi Bridge, built in 1805, once supported the main road which connected the south and north shorelines of the village. Several taverns and beach bars are located on the shore. The Monastery of Panagia Skopiotissa and the Agios Dionysios Church are must-visit sites near Argassi Bridge.
