Laganas beach is located within the Laganas village on the southern coast of Zakynthos. This 9 km long sandy beach is known for its crystalline, warm waters, which are home to the native Loggerhead sea turtles. The beach is famous for its extravagant nightlife, with several clubs, cafes, and bars in close proximity. Tourists can enjoy snorkelling, scuba diving in shallow waters, and even spot a few sea turtles. Paddle boating and kayaking are popular watersports here.
Take a boat tour to the nearby Marathonisi or turtle island, Keri caves, and Mizitheras. Cross the scenic wooden bridge to reach the Agios Sostis islet on the opposite end of the beach. Several tavernas, restaurants, snack bars, and souvenir shops are on the main road of the resort village. Laganas is the birthplace of loggerhead turtles and is a protected beach under the National Maritime Park.
