Xigia Sulphur beach is located on the East coast of Zakynthos island in Greece. This sulphur mining beach is most popular for its crystal clear waters, which are rich in sulphuric minerals. The beach complex comprises three beaches, out of which the Northern Xigia beach is the most popular. It is widely famous for its two caves with sulphur springs. People enjoy a snorkelling session or beauty baths on the beach as sulphur has healing and therapeutic properties for the body but has a strong smell.
The pebbled beach is famous for its deep waters, which take up a milky blue shade and can be as cold as 20 degrees due to its mineral richness. The Middle and Southern Xigia beaches are not easily accessible and thus are rather secluded. A picturesque beach bar on the cliff offers food, drinks, sun loungers, and umbrellas. Several eateries are in close proximity. Pelagaki beach and Makris Gialos beach are also nearby.
: Two chairs and an umbrella can be rented for EUR 10. Parking cost is around EUR 3.
