Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Ho Chi Mihn City - My Tho - Ben Tre - Can Tho
Depart from Ho Chi Minh City, enjoying the scenic journey bordered by lush green rice fields. Upon arrival in My Tho, visit Vinh Trang Pagoda, then embark on a leisurely boat ride along the river, passing stilt houses, fruit plantations, and fishing villages. Continue to Tortoise Islet and enjoy lunch in an orchard garden. After lunch, take a boat ride to An Khanh, a less touristy attraction in Ben Tre. Cruise on a hand-rowed sampan under the shade of water coconut trees along natural canals, then savor seasonal fruits and honey tea while listening to traditional Southern Vietnamese folk music performed by locals. Visit a family business that epitomizes the idyllic rural lifestyle, taste delicious coconut candy, and observe daily life as you explore fruit plantations and villages. Proceed to Can Tho for an overnight stay at the hotel. Alternatively, a family homestay with dinner can be arranged upon request. Enjoy free time to explore the bustling Can Tho market.
Enjoy the breakfast. Start the day with a leisurely boat trip along the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong River (Bassac River), then visit Cai Rang Floating Market (Phong Dien Market is optional), the liveliest in the entire region. Observe the making of Vietnamese vermicelli soup and wander through a village to meet friendly locals. Experience crossing a traditional "Monkey Bridge," made of a single bamboo stem, and visit an orchard garden. After lunch, continue to Chau Doc and visit Tra Su Sanctuary. Cruise through the wetlands in small boats to explore a rich ecosystem of splendid canals, tropical birds, and dense forests. Observe storks, cranes, and other exotic wildlife in their natural habitat. Return to town and check in to your hotel for an overnight stay in Chau Doc.
After breakfast, embark on a boat trip through the floating village to visit a fish farm and see how Mekong Delta residents raise fish in their floating houses. Visit the Cham minority community, explore their traditional weaving village, and stop at a local Islamic mosque.

Option 1: Return to Ho Chi Minh City, where the tour concludes at the designated drop-off location.
Option 2: Take a fast boat to Phnom Penh. The air-conditioned fast boat departs at 7:30 AM and arrives at 1:30 PM, with drop-off at Sisowath Wharf.

Jenny from LVP travel was horrible! She only cared about saving money at the expense of others. She cancelled the person meeting me at the airport, and gave the wrong location for meeting the driver. (Read More)She placed me on a bus rather than a train, arriving at 3:15 am instead of 7 am, with no one to meet me. She did not want to provide the tour agent with money for the promised excursions, making her cry. She placed the wrong name on a day tour, almost making me miss the activities that day. She was an absolute nightmare!

Booked with LVP from Ireland a little apprehensively despite their good online reviews as we were taking a lot on trust with our big family holiday. We needn't have worried- they never missed a beat. (Read More)All connections were seamless, guides were excellent, accommodation arrangements were great, in short could not fault them. Someone checked in with us every few days from HQ to ensure all was going ok. Well worth going direct to a local company for your Vietnam/Cambodia travel needs, highly recommend.
