Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara

Your Kenya African Safari begins upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. You'll be greeted and transferred to the office for finalization and a tour briefing. Afterward, you'll embark on a journey to Maasai Mara National Reserve. En route, stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for some breathtaking photos, followed by a lunch stop in Narok town. Enjoy the scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley, arriving at your camp in the late afternoon. Later, embark on your first game drive in Maasai Mara, where you’ll start your quest to spot the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. Return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Maasai Mara Full Day Game Drive

Begin your day with an early morning game drive to witness wildlife during their most active hours. For a unique experience, opt for a hot air balloon safari at sunrise, offering a panoramic view of the savannah. Later, visit the Mara River where you will have your picnic Lunch, you might witness the dramatic scenes of the Great Migration, depending on the season. Continue exploring different parts of the park in the afternoon, where you might see cheetahs, giraffes, and zebras. Later in the evening return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Maasai Mara Full Day Game Drive

Start your day with another early morning game drive for an unforgettable wildlife experience. Optionally, you can take a hot air balloon safari at sunrise to gain a unique perspective of the savannah. Visit the Mara River duri lunch break an eat your picnic lunch here, the Great Migration might be taking place depending on the season and ( High Seaon, July to October ). In the afternoon, continue exploring different parts of the park, with chances to see cheetahs, giraffes, and zebras. Later in the evening conclude your day with dinner an overnight stay at the Camp and a cultural presentation by Maasai warriors, providing further insight into their rich traditions and lifestyle.

Day 4: Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, visit a Maasai community in Mara to glimpse their way of life before departing for Nakuru. Enjoy lunch at Mai Mahiu along the way. Marvel at the breathtaking views of Lake Naivasha and the stunning sight of Mount Longonot as you travel towards Nakuru. Optional activities on Lake Naivasha are available for you to enjoy. Continue your journey to Nakuru, where you will have dinner and spend the night at the Buraha Zenoni Hotel.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha

Start your day with a morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its flamingos and as a sanctuary for endangered black and white rhinos. Witness the coexistence of buffalo, crocodiles, and hippos, among other aquatic creatures. Enjoy the view from Baboon Cliff, where you'll see baboons in their natural habitat. After a picnic lunch, proceed to Naivasha. Spend the evening and night at Leisure Apex Hotel.

Day 6: Lake Naivasha to Amboseli

Joseph, our guide, is an outstanding guide with a wealth of knowledge on the local flora, animals, geology, and other subjects. He is also a pleasure to converse with. For breakfast, lunch, and dinner, our cooks prepared delectable and incredibly varied dishes with a distinct Kenyan flavor. We, a group of four friends, can confirm that our five-day safari vacation with Zanzi African Safaris was one of the best experiences ever; in fact, several of our friends have already planned to return.

A Memorable Family Adventure with Zanzi African Safaris Zanzi African Safaris assisted us in organizing and carrying out our family vacation. They were really proactive from the beginning throughout (Read More)the planning stage, offering a variety of options to assist us tailor our schedule precisely to our preferences through email. Our guide Anthony welcomed us at the arrivals area when we arrived in Nairobi. He stayed with us the entire tour and guided us through the itinerary with humor, patience, and knowledge. We saw the many animals in Masai Mara, Amboseli, and Nakuru Flamingos. The cherry on top was seeing the sunrise from the hot-air balloon ride, which was well worth the fee. The Lodges that Zanzi African Safaris suggested were incredibly luxurious and fully furnished to accommodate any need. Travelers who are vegan or vegetarian need not worry at all because there are plenty of vegetarian options to select from. All in all, a really fulfilling experience.
