Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive at Bagdora (IXB) and drive towards Phuentsholing Bhutan
Arrive at Bagdogra Airport/NJP Railway Station and transfer to Phuentsholing, the gateway to Bhutan. Phuentsholing is a vibrant commercial town at the Himalayan foothills, blending Indian and Bhutanese cultures.

In the evening, visit Zangtho Pelri Lhakhang, a beautiful temple representing the heaven of Guru Rinpoche, located in the city center. Later, explore Phuentsholing town and market.
After breakfast, drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. En route, visit Kharbandi Gompa, a monastery built in 1967 by the Royal Grandmother, Ashi Phuntsho Choedron, offering stunning views of Phuentsholing and the plains of West Bengal. Stop at Gedu University for a scenic photo break, pass through Chukha Town & Chimakothi, and take a brief stop at Chuzom, where Paro and Thimphu rivers meet.

On arrival, check into the hotel. Thimphu, a city blending ancient traditions with modern development, is perhaps the only capital city in the world without traffic lights. In the evening, take an exploratory walk around Thimphu city center.
After breakfast, visit Memorial Chorten, built in 1974 in honor of Bhutan’s third king, Jigme Dorji Wangchuk. Proceed to Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang), where a giant 169-feet Buddha statue overlooks the Thimphu Valley. Visit Changangkha Lhakhang, a 12th-century temple where locals seek blessings for newborns. Stop at Simply Bhutan Museum to experience Bhutanese culture, try archery, taste traditional butter tea (Suja), and sample Ara, a local spirit.

Drive towards Punakha, stopping at Dochula Pass (3,088m) to admire 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens and enjoy panoramic views of the Himalayas. Upon arrival, check into the hotel and have a riverside picnic lunch.

In the afternoon, visit Punakha Dzong, also known as the “Palace of Great Happiness,” built at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers in 1637. Explore the scenic Punakha Suspension Bridge, a popular spot for photography.
After breakfast, drive back to Paro, descending from Dochula Pass and passing through Wang Chhu and Paro Chhu river valleys. En route, visit Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress in Bhutan, constructed in 1629 to subdue an evil spirit.

Later in the afternoon, visit the National Museum (Ta Dzong), which was originally built as a watchtower and now houses antique thangkha paintings, textiles, weapons, and historical artifacts. Walk down the trail to Rinpung Dzong, also known as the “Fortress of the Heap of Jewels,” which features intricate Buddhist murals and wall paintings.

In the evening, take a stroll around Paro city center.
After breakfast, embark on a hike to Taktshang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), a sacred monastery perched 900m above the Paro Valley. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche meditated here after arriving on a flying tigress. This hike is considered one of the most iconic experiences in Bhutan.

In the afternoon, visit Drukgyel Dzong, a ruined fortress where Bhutanese warriors fought Tibetan invaders centuries ago. Stop by Kyichu Lhakhang, a 7th-century temple built by Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo, marking the introduction of Buddhism to Bhutan.
After breakfast, drive back to Phuentsholing. En route, take a short stop at the Chukhha Hydropower Project viewpoint, one of Bhutan’s major power plants. Arrive in Phuentsholing by late afternoon and check into the hotel.

In the evening, enjoy free time in Phuentsholing town or explore Jaigaon, the border town in West Bengal.

After breakfast, transfer to Bagdogra Airport/NJP Railway Station for your onward journey. Our guide and driver will assist you with immigration exit formalities before departure.

We booked a 6 night (7 days) guided tour with car and driver (guide additional) with this tour company. From the get go, our experience was amazing. Om Prasad helped us plan the trip and find the best (Read More) hotels and plans. He was so prompt and respectful in communication (via whatsapp) and we felt very confident going with them. When we landed in Paro, Kinley (guide) and Jordan (driver), were outside waiting for us. The welcome was so warm, we immediately knew we made the right decision. Kinley is a wonderful human being - so down to earth, respectful and efficient. He answered all our questions, gave explanations of culture, history and current Bhutan. He spoke in hindi with our parents who don't speak English too well - as much as he could. Kinley educated us so much on Buddhism and their history and stories, we feel like we truly understood the meaning of many drawings and monsteries. When we hiked the tiger's nest - he was with us every step of the way and so patient. Coming back, he collected 2 big bags of trash along the way. He inspired us and also made our trip so enjoyable - we had to worry about literally nothing. At the end of the trip, we wanted to buy Ezay, but vegetarian, he went with us to 4 stores before we found it. He also helped us buy genuine souvenirs from authentic and decently priced shops. Above and beyond in every way - at the end of the trip, we felt like we were saying goodbye to family. Jordan, our driver was amazing as well. He drives so well on these winding and high elevation roads that none of us got nauseous or scared and could simply enjoy the landscapes and beauty of Bhutan. When we were hiking the tiger's nest, Jordan agreed to hike some of the way with our parents who couldn't hike all the way and took exceptional care of them while the rest of us went with Kinley. Knowing Jordan was with them helped us not stress about them and just enjoy the hike. Overall 20/10 experience. If you are going to Bhutan, choose them (and choose local) - it'll make your experience unforgettable.

I had the pleasure of booking a trip to Bhutan through Flying Beat Tours & Travels and I can recommend them highly enough! From start to finish, the experience was seamless. Every detail was taken care of, from our accommodations to guided tours of stunning locations. We felt well-supported throughout our journey, with prompt responses to our questions and concerns. The local guide Mr. Nedup was fantastic, offering rich insights into Bhutanese culture and history. Our driver Mr. Dawa was also a very good driver & a humorous person. Overall, our trip was smooth and unforgettable, thanks to Flying Beats & Mr. Om. If you're considering a trip to Bhutan, look no further!

Amazing experience with Flying beat tours! We visited in September during the festival, and it was a very memorable experience. They were very responsive to our messages before and during our trip. I recently had the privilege to visit the beautiful country of Bhutan with the guidance of Flying Beat Tours & Travel for 7 days/6 nights. There was a few tour companies to pick from and Flying Beat s (Read More)tood out the most because my email/WhatsApp correspondence with the owner himself has been the most engaging. He answered all my questions and concerns on a timely manner. He was also flexible with our needs. The price of the tour was within our budget and we were very happy with the accommodations it came with it (breakfast and dinner also included). This was a private tour for 4 of us ladies. Our guide and driver were both attentive, personable, and professional. Our guide was knowledgeable and flexible with any changes or requests. Our driver drove us safely to all our stops and destinations with punctuality. Everything went smoothly for the most part. One thing to note, when you are ready to book the tour, a partial payment is required as any tour company would do. Since the transaction is done via international wire transfer (our group is from the US & UAE) you will encounter a bank transfer fee (around $40 from my bank- every bank may have a different fee). It will be more economical to have one person from your group transfer the payment for everyone in one transaction. This way, you can split the cost of the bank fee and it will also be better for the recipient as his bank will also charge him a fee for each transaction. The remaining balance will be paid upon arrival. So if you are wondering if Bhutan is worth visiting, yes, most definitely! The scenery is stunning, the people are kind and the culture is still very much intact and authentic to its traditions and values even in this modern world we live in. I highly recommend to give this tour company the opportunity to show you the beauty of Bhutan.

Recently we went to Bhutan through Flying Beat. We had an amazing time. Mr. Om from day one guided us how to go about. He arranged for the e permits well before departure. He suggested hotel options a (Read More)nd after finalizing did all the bookings. Since we are senior citizens, he planned our visit in such a way we did not feel rushed or hectic. He also arranged for a guide throughout the tour which is mandatory in Bhutan. Pema who was our guide was very knowledgeable. We were picked up from Bagdogra airport and reached Jaigaon. From there our guide Mr. Pema recived us and took us through the immigration formalities smoothly. We visited important places, spent time at leisure enjoying the natural beauty that is beyond description. It is nature at its best. Since my daughter wanted to do some hikes and treks he planned it in such a way that her wishes too were fulfilled. I should mention here they both Om - our tour organiser and Pema our tour guide were extremely courteous, kind, helpful and punctual throughout. Mr. Om drove the vehicle so well in the harshest conditions so smoothly that we could enjoy the scenery outside with out any worries. Mr. Pema explained in detail about all the monuments we visited. I should add here Mr.Pema is a good photo grapher too. All the photos he clicked are superb. Mr.Om was so thoughtful that as I had difficulty in walking he used to drop me at the nearest point possible and promptly pick me from there too. So I was saved from long walk to the parking lot. We have fond memories of Bhutan thanks to Flying Beat. I will recommend them as I found them very genuine.
