Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Guwahati to Cherrapunjee (146 km, 4 hr 16 min)

Meet and greet by our representative at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station, and proceed towards Cherrapunjee. En route, visit Shillong Peak and Elephant Falls.
Cherrapunjee is known for its impressive waterfalls and deep gorges, offering stunning views of the plains of Bangladesh.
Attractions include:

Nohsngithiang Falls (Mawsmai Falls)
Dainthlen Falls
Nohkailikai Falls (World’s fourth highest)

Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel. After some rest, visit:

Mawsmai Cave (6 km from Cherrapunjee market, towards the Bangladesh border)
Eco Park
Thangkharang Park

Overnight stay at the hotel in Cherrapunjee.

Day 2 Cherrapunjee

Enjoy a half-day trip to the Double Decker Root Bridge (a 3-hour trek involving 3,000 steps up and down).

In the evening, prepare for a get-together. Overnight stay at the hotel in Cherrapunjee.

Day 3 Cherrapunjee – Mawlynnong – Dawki – Shillong (54 km, 1 hr 54 min)

After breakfast, drive towards Mawlynnong Village in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya. Known as ‘God’s Own Garden’, the village was awarded the title of the Cleanest Village in Asia in 2003 and the Cleanest Village in India in 2005.
Highlights:

Picturesque natural beauty
Trek to the One-Decker Living Root Bridge at Riwai
Natural Balancing Rock (a unique natural phenomenon)
Stunning views of the Bangladesh plains
In the afternoon, drive to Dawki. Enjoy boating at the Umngot River, known for its crystal-clear water, and admire the view at Jaflong Point.

Optional Activity: Night camping at Dawki for a unique experience.
Return to Shillong for an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4 Shillong and Vicinity

After breakfast, explore Shillong and its surroundings. Visit:

Don Bosco Museum
Sacred Groves of Mawphlang
Laitlum Canyons (the Grand Canyon of the East)

In the evening, visit the Cathedral and stroll the famous Police Bazaar. Overnight stay at the hotel in Shillong.

Day 5 Shillong to Guwahati (97 km, 2 hr 42 min)

After breakfast, visit:

Ward’s Lake
Lady Hydari Park

Proceed towards Guwahati, stopping at Borapani Lake (Umiam Lake) for a picturesque view and an optional motorboat ride. Continue the journey to Guwahati, where you will be dropped off at the airport or railway station.

I hv been travelling with this tour operator since 2016. This time in december 1st to 13 i went to Nagaland to attend hornbill festival, konohoma village ,then to kaziranga in Assam. Also went to Dir (Read More)ang,tawang,Bomdilla and tezpur and stayed at comfortable hotels. We really enjoyed the trip. Its safe for lafies and family.

We the five friends, all are Senior Citizens, had a customised seven days eight nights Tour trip to Tawang - Bumla pass near Indo China border in Aruchanal Pradesh arranged by Asian Holidays and Exped (Read More)itions. Hotels/Tent house/Homestays were arranged for us at Nameri, Dirang, Sangtivalley, Tawang, Bomdila and Tezpur. Attached vehicle althroughout was provided since pick up from Guwahati Airport on 16th May '24 and back on 23rd May'24 to Guwahati Airport. Driver of the vehicle was also very good and cooperative. Inner-line permits for Arunachal Pradesh and Special Army permits for Bumla Pass (at 15300 ft. ) visit for all of us were arranged by Asian Holidays. All arrangements were of high standard. Time and again, they, specially Mr. Hari, Head of Asian Holidays and their representative Ms. Pompi enquired for any help required by us. Specially Mr. Hari, Head of Asian Holidays and Expeditions, was very prompt in action and managed our tour very efficiently and deserves a high applause. We enjoyed the serene beauty of entire route including Sela Pass and Bumla Pass, Tawang etc.( photos enclosed). Overall performance of Asian Holidays and Expeditions can be compares with any reputed travel agency. We look forward to avail more trips through them
