Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Day 1 Welcome to Vietnam - Hanoi Arrival

Upon arrival in Hanoi, you will be greeted by your driver and transferred to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is at your leisure to relax or explore Hanoi at your own pace. Overnight in Hanoi.

Accommodation: Hanoi Boutique Hotel 3*

After breakfast at the hotel, depart at 8:00 AM for a full-day tour of Hanoi. Begin with a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Presidential Palace, and Ho Chi Minh’s residence, learning about his life and legacy. Next, explore the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, built in the 12th century. Enjoy a traditional music performance before heading to a local restaurant for an authentic Hanoi Pho (noodle soup) lunch.

In the afternoon, visit one of Hanoi’s many museums or temples, such as the Museum of Ethnology, Women’s Museum, History Museum, or Quan Thanh Temple. Later, take a leisurely walk around Hoan Kiem Lake and the bustling Old Quarter, experiencing Hanoi’s vibrant street culture. End the day with a Water Puppet Show, a traditional Vietnamese art form. Overnight in Hanoi.

Accommodation: Hanoi Boutique Hotel 3*

After breakfast, depart from Hanoi at 9:00 AM for Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy a scenic 3.5-hour drive through the countryside before arriving at the port. Board a traditional Chinese-style junk boat and begin your breathtaking cruise through the emerald waters of Halong Bay.

Enjoy a fresh seafood lunch onboard before visiting the Surprise Cave and Wooden Grottoes. Swim in the tranquil waters or relax on the deck. As the sun sets, unwind with a cocktail on the top deck or try squid fishing. Overnight on the cruise.

Accommodation: Garden Bay Cruises 3* or similar

Wake up early to witness a stunning sunrise over Halong Bay. Join a Tai Chi session on deck before enjoying breakfast. Continue cruising through the bay, stopping at a floating fishing village to learn about the local way of life. After lunch, return to the harbor and transfer back to Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi.

Accommodation: Hanoi Boutique Hotel 3*

After breakfast, take a flight to Da Nang in Vietnam’s central region. Visit the Cham Museum, home to some of the world’s finest sandstone carvings. Continue to Cua Dai Beach and the Marble Mountains before heading to the ancient town of Hoi An. Once a major Southeast Asian trading port, Hoi An retains its charming mix of Japanese, Chinese, and Portuguese influences. Overnight in Hoi An.

Accommodation: Rose Garden Hotel 3* or similar

Depart at 8:00 AM for My Son, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located 50 km from Hoi An. This ancient Cham capital features red brick towers and sanctuaries dating back to the 7th to 13th centuries. Considered one of Southeast Asia’s greatest archaeological sites, My Son is often compared to Angkor Wat in Cambodia and Bagan in Myanmar. Return to Hoi An for a free afternoon to explore or shop. Overnight in Hoi An.

Accommodation: Rose Garden Hotel 3* or similar

Enjoy a full-day exploration of Hoi An, once a bustling port city known as "Faifo." Visit historical sites, including a temple with gilded statues, a pagoda dedicated to sailors and fishermen, and a 1700s-era chapel reflecting Chinese and Japanese architectural influences.

Stop by the Sa Huynh Museum, near the Japanese Covered Bridge, which houses artifacts from Hoi An’s early history. Later, take a boat trip on the Thu Bon River to Kim Bong Village, where you can observe traditional woodworkers and shipbuilders. Enjoy a relaxing evening on Cua Dai Beach. Overnight in Hoi An.

Accommodation: Rose Garden Hotel 3* or similar

Spend the morning at leisure before transferring to the airport for a flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for check-in. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

My trip was very well organised and most enjoyable. Jenny took very good care of me and kept me informed of each days activities well in advance meaning I had a stress free trip. Thank you Jenny and (Read More) everyone at LVP Travel for making my trip a memorable one. Highly recommended ?

Jenny from LVP travel was horrible! She only cared about saving money at the expense of others. She cancelled the person meeting me at the airport, and gave the wrong location for meeting the driver. (Read More)She placed me on a bus rather than a train, arriving at 3:15 am instead of 7 am, with no one to meet me. She did not want to provide the tour agent with money for the promised excursions, making her cry. She placed the wrong name on a day tour, almost making me miss the activities that day. She was an absolute nightmare!

Booked with LVP from Ireland a little apprehensively despite their good online reviews as we were taking a lot on trust with our big family holiday. We needn't have worried- they never missed a beat. (Read More)All connections were seamless, guides were excellent, accommodation arrangements were great, in short could not fault them. Someone checked in with us every few days from HQ to ensure all was going ok. Well worth going direct to a local company for your Vietnam/Cambodia travel needs, highly recommend.
