Itinerary

Take a relaxing horseback ride through the beautiful scenery of the National Park of Dubai. Explore the contrasting views as you trot over forest paths filled with ghaf trees and wild sandy dunes. At the end of your ride, you will learn how to wash, groom and feed your horse. Your escort will take you out into the park and keep you informed as to any questions you may have regarding your surroundings. Allow your fully trained escort to navigate you through forest paths through wild sandy dunes that are shaded by lovely ghaf trees. Look out for the local wildlife, such as desert foxes. After a 60 or 90-minute ride (depending on option booked) through a magical landscape, return to the stables and learn how to untack your horse as well as the opportunity to groom, shower and feed it with supplied carrots.

Unfortunately, I have to report on this activity with mixed feelings. The planned start was 6:00 a.m. We booked a car so we could be there beforehand. Then we found out that it starts at 6:45. As a re (Read More)sult, we had to wait around 30 minutes, but were allowed in a little earlier. The instruction on how to handle the animals was a bit short. My sister's horse was a bit stubborn and lethargic from the start. With 10 minutes to go, the old stallion bolted without any apparent trigger. Pulling on the reins didn't help and she ended up falling off the horse and injuring her arm. My horse also wanted to sprint away, but he could be controlled. The guide helped her get back on the horse, which now refused to go any further, so it was led with a leash on the guide's horse. Of course there is always a residual risk, but my sister has sat on horses many times and an animal for inexperienced tourists should not behave like that. Overall, a mediocre activity.

The ride was good but 45 minutes would be better than 1 hour, cause it was a bit long. Also it was very hard to find the location because the park was completely empty

The people at the riding school were very nice and helpful. We went at 18:00 but that was actually a bit too late because it got dark very quickly and we couldn't see everything well.
