Itinerary

On this comprehensive city tour you’ll see some of the most important landmarks and sights in the historical center of Athens. You’ll also tour the Acropolis, enjoying an in-depth guided tour of this World Heritage Site. The 5-hour tour begins inside the Syntagma metro station where your guide will show you the archaeological finds that came to light during the construction of the metro. Head on to Parliament House and the Monument to the Unknown Soldier. See the changing of the guard before continuing on to the National Garden of Athens and the beautiful neo-classical Zappeion Hall. In front of the hall, note the Hadrian’s Arch Tower. Enter the famous Plaka district, and continue on the beautiful pedestrian walkway of Dionyssiou Areopagitou to the Acropolis. Begin your ascent while taking in spectacular views of the city below. Your guide will provide a detailed account of the monuments of the Acropolis, including the Parthenon, Erechteion, Propylaia, and the Nike Temple. Learn about surrounding landmarks, such as the Dionysus Sanctuary, Philopappos Hill, Mars Hill, and the Ancient Agora. The tours ends at the New Acropolis Museum, where you’ll have a chance to see some of the more than 4,000 magnificent objects that were unearthed during the excavation of the site. Skip-the-Ticket Line Access Please be aware that even with our skip-the-ticket-line service, there might be some waiting time required for security checks. This is because visitor numbers can fluctuate unpredictably at the sites throughout the day. The typical waiting time falls within 0 to 10 or 30 minutes, though on rare occasions, it might be longer.

The tour started promptly at 9.30, the guide Effy is quite knowledgeable and energetic. Her narrative mixed with jokes made the walk less strenuous. It's a bit tiring at the end of the tour, but it's w (Read More)ork the exercise

The entire trip can be divided into three sections: the Old City City Walk + Acropolis + Acropolis Museum. There are people leaving or joining each section. The city walk is the least crowded, there w (Read More)ere only four people on my day (off-season, non-weekend). This section of the Acropolis has the most people, nearly 20 people. The Acropolis Museum became about 10 people again. In the middle, you will wait for someone at a yogurt bar + change tour guide + give Acropolis tickets (additional fee). The tour guides in the city walk section have accents, but it's okay once you get used to it. They will help you concentrate, and it's comfortable with fewer people. There is another tour guide for the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum. His English is very good and he speaks very fast. It is easy to get distracted. It is best to watch some documentaries about the Acropolis before coming.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. The climb to the Acropolis was challenging but she stopped often enough to ensure that we all made it!

Kimon was a terrific guide. Passionate about the subject matter and very attentive to the pace of the tour to ensure we covered all of the spots to sight-see in the allotted time. Coupling the museum (Read More)tour to follow after visiting the Acropolis was great because there was so much context to the museum exhibits and flow after the walking tour. Highly recommend!!!
