Itinerary

You'll begin this Bangkok Chinatown tour at Bangkok Hua Lamphong Railway Station, it doesn't get any more old-school than this – the station is more than a hundred years old and one of Bangkok's architectural gems. Our first stop is Wat Traimit, the Golden Buddha Temple - an incredible sight to behold and one of the can't miss things to do in Bangkok. This stunning temple enshrines the world's largest solid gold seated Buddha from the Sukhothai Era, measuring nearly five metres high and weighing five and a half tonnes. This temple also houses the Yaowarat Chinese Heritage Centre where you'll learn all about the history of the Chinese people in Thailand and the fascinating relationship between these two countries. Next, you'll get into everything you've been waiting for – bring on the food! With your local guide, you'll head to a 100-year-old coffee shop on Phat Sai Road, where you'll be treated to a traditional Thai coffee, snack, and the opportunity to sit back and soak up the atmosphere. We'll then head to a market specialising in Chinese religious products and fresh food. With a belly full of Bangkok treats, we'll head to our final stop, a hidden gem of a sky bar with 360-degree panoramic views to rival all others in the city. You'll have a chance to relax and refresh with a cold Thai local beer (soft drinks also available) while taking in the breath-taking scene. Your guide will point out Bangkok's significant sights, from the modern malls and skyscrapers, to the historic highlights such as The Grand Palace, Wat Arun, and the Golden Mount.

We met at the main train station. Honestly the worst part of the whole experience was FINDING our guide, mostly because our Grab taxi could not find the location according to the info that we were giv (Read More)en. Thank heaven for some friendly Thai citizens that helped us on our way. The guide, Amin, was super kind and friendly and did a fabulous job winding us through the crowded streets of Chinatown. I loved visiting the Temple and history musuem. It was fascinating to better understand how the Chinese people came to Thailand and influenced it's culture. Amin did a great job of taking us to numerous vendors and trying street food--mango sticky rice was my favorite, but the pad thai was also really good! We ended the evening at a rooftop bar of a local hotel in Chinatown, sipping cool drinks and watching the sun set over Bangkok. It was a fabulous tour!

We had our guide all to ourselves. Bebe was a wonderful companion, we had good conversations and no questions remained unanswered. In my opinion, the tour itself could delve a little “deeper” into the (Read More) OLD Chinatown. I found it a bit superficial.

We can only recommend the tour. We had a small group of 4 people and the guide was just great. We were able to try lots of little delicacies, and the final meal was also delicious. There was enough ti (Read More)me to take photos and every question was answered to our complete satisfaction. All entrance fees were included. We would do it again and again. Thank you for this great tour through Bangkok.
