Itinerary

Enjoy an audio-guided tour of the archaeological site in 8 languages. Visit the Delphi Archaeological Museum and explore the scenic mountain village of Arachova. At Delphi, relive and explore the ancient world with our innovative Virtual reality device and our multilingual commentary. After breakfast, board the air-conditioned bus at one of the main pick up points in Athens and head to Delphi with a scenic drive across the mainland. Enjoy a virtual reality, audio-guided tour inside the archaeological site, with entry tickets pre-booked and paid for you if you select the option. Admire the monuments of ancient Greece and see the Omphalos, considered by the ancient Greeks to be the center of the world. Explore the ancient theater, the hippodrome, the stadium, and the Tholos. Then you will visit the Delphi Archaeological Museum to complete your immersive experience. Later you will have the chance to stop at the picturesque mountain villages of Delphi and Arachova, known for its handmade crafts and traditional Greek architecture. Unfortunately, the experience was not as positive as it could have been. We were expecting an excellent guide and instead we only heard a few general comments that were not relevant on the bus. As for (Read More) VR, they give you a mobile phone with an app that shows you some images of about 10 points of the Oracle, nothing more. It is November so there were very few options for restaurants open in Delphi. The lunch stop in Arachova would be more interesting, as it is a charming town with a lot of activity. In short, many hours on the bus for the short time enjoyed at the destination. The Oracle is worth it, the rest of the tour as it is planned can be greatly improved.

The trip to Delphi from Athens was a perfect day trip for me and my family of four with two teens. The pick up from Athens was easy and the bus was comfortable and spacious. We didn’t have many others (Read More) with us on the trip so that was nice but we hit traffic to Delphi due to a landslide and traffic on the way back, resulting in two extra hours on the journey. But the guide and driver made sure we had everything we needed and enough stops for restrooms and snacks. The drive is beautiful once you start up the mountain. Delphi is absolutely beautiful and the museum was really well done. The small village is delightful and we found a wonderful restaurant with a stunning view and traditional cuisine. Be patient with the VR guide since it sometimes doesn’t want to go to the next stop but it had good info and cool graphics. Definitely recommend this day trip to see a remarkable landmark!

The tour consists of transportation and facilitating access to the site. There is no guided tour as such, but they offer you an audio guide that tells you details of the archaeological site. However, (Read More)it is an experience that I recommend, especially if you already know what you are going to see. On the downside, I would say that it would take another hour during the lunch period to see the town. Irene has been a very good guide and has made everything very easy.
