Itinerary

This is an ideal combo tour to see the city center sights in just a few hours. At the Acropolis of Athens, you’ll explore the graceful and enduring Parthenon which is one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world. Then, you’ll dive deeper into its worldly significance at the Acropolis Museum where marble masterpieces from the Acropolis tell a compelling story on their own.  The tour starts at the Syntagma metro station for a brief look at the ancient artifacts displayed at the metro’s museum. You’ll also see the Greek Parliament, the Monument of the Unknown Soldier, and watch the Changing of the Guards. Next, your guide will walk you through the National Gardens, Zappeion Hall, the Temple of Zeus and Hadrian’s Arch. From there you will walk towards the Acropolis through the beautiful pedestrian walkway of Dionysiou Areopagitou. Then you'll benefit from skip-the-line entry into the Acropolis, encountering many monuments as you go through and enjoying panoramic views of the city, perfect for photos.  Designed by renowned Swiss architect Bernard Tschumi and notable Greek architect Michalis Photiadis, the Acropolis Museum captivates guests on approach. Its seamless modern lines elegantly incorporate artifacts exclusively from the Acropolis, and excavations are also visible under glass floors and walkways. The marbled surviving treasures are impressively displayed with the use of natural light, situated on a modernist open layout. Skip-the-Ticket Line Access We are pleased to offer all our guests a convenient skip-the-ticket-line service. We take care and pre-purchasing the entrance tickets for each archaeological site and Museum visited during the tour, saving you the hassle of buying them online or queuing up at the ticket counters. However, please be aware that even with our skip-the-ticket-line service, there might be some waiting time required for security checks. This is because visitor numbers can fluctuate unpredictably at the sites throughout the day. The typical waiting time falls within 0 to 10 or 30 minutes, though on rare occasions, it might be longer.

What a great way to see some Athens highlights! We had two guides. Dimitrius was particularly good sharing his seemingly vast knowledge of Athenian history and having the prepaid tickets made everythi (Read More)ng run smoothly and efficiently. So pleased we booked this tour including pick up at our ship and prepaid tickets. Thank you!!!

We did not realize this was a city walking tour along with the acropolis we thought just the acropolis and museum. Needless to say it was tons of walking. For older people please know you will walk up (Read More) hill for hours on rocky uneven, slippery terrain. If you come in the summer it is horribly hot. Bad! Take water, hats, umbrella. Our tour guide was really good. Not her fault we chose to come in summer. She was very informative. We did however feel abandoned at the end. We got lost trying to find the meeting point. Maybe our fault. At any rate, I would do it again with this company. They showed up on time, comfortable bus and nice headsets.

Transportation to and from our ship was efficiently run. 5 1/2 hour tour would have been far more enjoyable if done in 3 hours. Too many stops with exhaustive narrative.

Climbing up to the top of the Acropolis was very difficult for our group. Our guide was amazing, keeping track of everyone, watching how we progressed and took breaks often as needed to keep up togeth (Read More)er. I would give her 5 stars for her wonderful leadership and knowledge. As difficult as it was, we really enjoyed our tour.
