Itinerary

Enjoy a full-day tour to the Khaolak Elephant Sanctuary in a small-group tour that is limited to just 10 people to ensure you get as much interaction with the elephants as possible. Start the tour with a morning pickup from your accommodation in Phuket. Take a 2-hour scenic drive, arriving at the sanctuary by around 9 AM. Meet your English-speaking guide, enjoy some snacks, and learn about the history and behavior of rescued elephants. Then, trek into the jungle with your guide where you will find free-roaming elephants and hear their individual stories. You can touch, feed, photograph, and interact with the elephants at your leisure while you learn about their lifestyle and behaviors. At 11 AM, stop to enjoy a delicious spread of home-cooked Thai food for lunch. After lunch, head back into the jungle to feed the animals their dietary supplements. Learn more deeply about each elephant and what it takes to keep them healthy and happy. At about 4 PM, take some final photos with the elephants before it is time to part ways and change into some dry clothes. Finally, eat some snacks and seasonal fresh fruits and head back to your hotel. Activities in one day: Start 6.30am. To was an excellent guide and I will remember this day forever. I am a solo traveller and I met new friends on the tour (human ones!) I was picked up from my hotel at Karon at 6:30 and we reached the (Read More)sanctuary at 9:30. First we made vitamin balls and fed them to the elephants. Then we went for a walk with one elephant and fed it more bananas and sugarcane while we learned more about the elephants. Next I went to a local farm where I saw a coconut be cut from a tree an I immediately drank the water. We also collected some ingredients. I returned to the sanctuary and had my cooking lesson which I ate for lunch after. When I had finished eating we took a short drive to a nearby waterfall where we had a quick swim. Finally, we helped to give the elephants a mud bath and rinsed them off after. The day finished at around 3pm and then I was driven back to my hotel. It was amazing to learn so much about the elephants and get so close to them in a cruelty free environment.

This trip to the Khao Lak Elephant Sanctuary was one of the best we have done in a long time. We had booked a full trip with everything included including lessons in Thai cooking. It was wonderful to (Read More)experience such closeness to the elephants, we got to cook for them and then feed them, we got to hike with them in the jungle and we got to bathe with them after the elephants had had a cuddle in the mud. Later we had to go to cut down small banana trees which we then had to feed the elephants with. There were 3 of us who together had a guide all day. Our guide was named Soi and she was very knowledgeable, humorous and helpful. We can wholeheartedly recommend this tour. It is not the cheapest but we think we got value for money and what was decisive for us when we booked was that it said that the group was small and that was true, we have heard of other places where the groups are very large. We live in a hotel at Kamala beach and we were picked up at 07:00 and were back at 19:00.

This is amazing, you have to try this, you won’t regret it. I spent the whole day there , fed the elephants, bathed with them, prepared food and vitamins. The whole experience was amazing and the tour (Read More) guides they’re super friendly. Rosie especially, she made my trip as o was travelling alone, she even assisted with taking pics.
