Itinerary

Spend the day on the water in a traditional Omani dhow boat. Admire the dramatic rock formations and search the crystal-clear waters for signs of dolphins playing in the surf. Easily accessible with hotel pickup from Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, or Ras Al Khaimah, this full-day tour offers the perfect opportunity to explore the beauty of the Khor Ash Sham fjord. After pick up from your hotel, you'll head to Khasab port to meet your guide at 9:30 AM. Begin with a briefing on the day's itinerary and set sail from the port on a traditional dhow boat. Admire the Khor Ash Sham fjord, famous for its beautiful clear waters, an abundance of sea life, and vibrant coral reefs. Sail past Nadifi and Qanah before making a stop in the waters off Telegraph Island in Khasab Bay at approximately 11:45 AM. Take some time for swimming and snorkeling in the beautiful clear waters. Then, enjoy some lunch on board before sailing onwards to Sibi Island. Stop offshore for more swimming and snorkeling, before making your way to the Island of Sham. Learn about the village from your guide before beginning the journey back to Khasab Port, where you will arrive at approximately 4:00 PM. Return hotel transfers are provided.

This was one of the best trips EVER! Regarding transport: We were picked up on time at the hotel and driven to Kashab by car. The border process went smoothly. Regarding the dhow: The dhow was carpete (Read More)d and there were thick cushions all around the edge for comfortable sitting. The dhow was covered so that there was protection from the sun. Otherwise there was a toilet and a freshwater shower. The boat trip lasted a total of almost 6 hours. We were the only two guests that day! We had 2 snorkeling stops (each about 45 minutes). The guide accompanied us into the water and showed us lots of things like colorful fish, sea urchins, corals and a huge turtle. After not seeing any dolphins at first, we got our money's worth in the end. The guide and the captain encouraged the dolphins with noises (whistles, clapping, shouts) to swim and jump parallel to the dhow, which worked very well. Highly recommended!!

The Tour Guides on the boat were very friendly and gave a lot of information about the Dhow Cruise. They were also making sure that we felt comfortable by providing hot tea/coffee, cold drinks and a n (Read More)ice lunch. We stopped at two spots for swimming and snorkeling. The highlights were the beautiful landscape of Oman and that a dolphin family was accompanying our Dhow.

The arrival and departure were very well organized. The journey there was a bit long, just over 3 hours, and the border crossing took a while. The trip on the boat was very nice. The snorkeling itself (Read More) was OK, there were a few fish, but not very many. But we did actually see dolphins. The crew went to great lengths to ensure that we were able to experience this. It was great! The food on board was also very good. We were constantly given cold drinks and fruit. It was a successful day trip for us. Our 12-year-old son even wanted us to book this tour again for the next day. :-)

Second time doing this tour in the last 10 months. The staff on the dhow are just amazing and there is plentiful food and drinks on board. There were only 4 guests on the dhow on Wednesday 12 June so (Read More)it was practically a private cruise. We saw lots of wild dolphins and plentiful of fish and swam amongst them on the two swimming stops. it's a very peaceful cruise and will do it again when we are back out in September!
