We will explore one of the islands of Phang Nga Bay national park called Koh Tapu - famous as James Bond Island from the 1974 movie Man with the golden gun. The island has two small beaches connected by the stairs and has open cave. Walk through the island and take memorable photos with the rock behind you. There are local people selling souvenirs. Stop at Koh Panyi, a Muslim floating village. The whole village is built out over water on stilts with a giant monolith guarding its rear. Spend some time in the village watching people’s ordinary life, visit the local school yard, mosque, and do some shopping. Cruise by mangrove forests that form interesting channels in the sea. Mangrove forests provide protection and shelter against extreme weather events, such as storm winds and floods, as well as tsunamis. They are rich in biodiversity providing a habitat for wide varieties of animal and plant species. Go sea kayaking with a local guide.
